What is the Zoning Board of Appeals?

How do I submit my application for review?

Applications for review by this board shall be submitted to the Department of Development Services. If all required documents are submitted, that department will schedule the review of the complete application by this board based on the approved schedule. (Note. Incomplete applications will not be accepted.)

Note. Public participation is a vital part of the review process of an application. However, direct, private communication with Zoning Board of Appeals members is restricted, discouraged, and governed by strict ethical rules to prevent conflicts of interest and ensure a fair, impartial process. All evidence, testimony, and arguments must be presented in a public forum where all parties can hear and respond to it. Private contact can taint the decision-making process, leading to potential legal challenges. You can read more at Cornell Legal Information Institute - Ex Parte Communiations (NYS Law).
