Note. Public participation is a vital part of the review process of an application. However, direct, private communication with Planning Board members is restricted, discouraged, and governed by strict ethical rules to prevent conflicts of interest and ensure a fair, impartial process. All evidence, testimony, and arguments must be presented in a public forum where all parties can hear and respond to it. Private contact can taint the decision-making process, leading to potential legal challenges. You can read more at Cornell Legal Information Institute - Ex Parte Communiations (NYS Law).
